Script Submission

We do not accept unsolicited scripts. We are not properly staffed to respond appropriately to the number of scripts we would likely receive.

We do accept scripts that have been recommended by playwrights we know, playwright agents or organizations, fellow colleagues and peers.

We actively seek out new plays and the work of new playwrights. The Company Dramaturg travels regularly throughout the country to keep informed of current productions, writing styles and performances.

We do play readings and workshops throughout the year according to the necessities of the playwright, dramaturg, or production team.

General Auditions

The National Arts Centre holds general auditions once every two years. These auditions are primarily for actors living in the National Capital Region. For those actors living outside the National Capital Region we will hold auditions for specific productions when required.
